Warren Buffett once said, “In the world of business, the people who are most successful are those who are doing what they love.” While I am always striving for greater success in all I do, I was very fortunate to learn what I love to do at a young age. I was hooked on the practice of investing when mother took me to open an IRA account with her broker at A.G. Edwards when I was a junior in college. Before that meeting, I was unaware of the array of financial growth opportunities that were available to people. I was excited as a first-time “investor” myself. But what captivated me most was that you could make a career out of helping other people protect and grow their money. I’ve never wanted to do anything else since that day. And I remain grateful that this is the career I get to enjoy daily.
I say all this because I’d like to share with each of you the next step in my career journey. While it has been with mixed emotions, I have announced that I will be leaving Capital Investment Advisors to start a new firm, Moore Invested LLC. I have spent more than two decades with my CIA family and have personal connections that will last a lifetime. I will be forever grateful to the Reiner family. I met Mike Reiner in 2000 and we immediately became friends and golfing partners. The rest, as they say, is history. His sons, Mitch and Matt, have also been close friends to me for many years. We practically grew up together in our professional careers. In recent years, while spearheading the Denver and Phoenix office for CIA, I have met some wonderful people and I will treasure those experiences.
As somber as it is to leave a firm that has been like family to me, it is with great excitement and anticipation that I lean into this next stage of my career. With the creation of Moore Invested, LLC, it is my desire to get back to the basics of investing and doing it in a fiduciary capacity. I have been wearing many hats in recent years; Moore Invested will give me the capacity to focus 25 years of experience on the ever- changing investment landscape, providing unique customization to clients, and offering them specialty investment opportunities that are often overlooked or underrepresented by other wealth management firms.
As I begin this next step in my career journey, I want to acknowledge that I’ve been truly blessed by so many people already, including all of you reading this letter. I want to particularly thank Kellie Carter and Elizabeth Jackson, who have chosen to join me at Moore Invested. Their excitement and support mean to much to me. I also cannot thank my wife, Jenny, and our family enough. They continue to support me every day and every step of the way. It was John Maxwell who said, “With every new thing you gain, you also lose something.” While my overarching emotion is eager excitement, I am also aware of the daily interactions with so many great people and great friends that I will miss. The future is exhilarating, but our shared history will remain with me.
As I’m sure you all know, I prefer talking or meeting in person to email or text. If you have any questions at all, feel free to give me a call or follow the link to set up a meeting at your convenience. I look forward to all that is coming for each of us. With gratitude for your ongoing support,
