Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Investment Overview

Moore Insights

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a major technology company that provides the infrastructure businesses need to operate. Its products and services include servers, storage, networking equipment, software, and other technology solutions used by businesses around the world. HPE became an independent company in 2015 when Hewlett-Packard separated its enterprise operations from its personal-computer and printing businesses. Today, HPE is focused on several important areas of technology, including cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

A History of Strategic Expansion

Since becoming independent, HPE has worked to move beyond traditional computer hardware and focus on areas with stronger long-term growth potential. The company has expanded into hybrid cloud, networking, edge computing, and AI infrastructure, giving investors exposure to several major technology trends.

One of HPE’s most important moves was its acquisition of Juniper Networks. This significantly strengthened HPE’s networking business and expanded its ability to provide networking solutions to businesses. The combination gives HPE a broader portfolio that includes campus and branch networking, datacenter switching, routing, and security. This is increasingly important as businesses rely on faster and more advanced networks to support cloud applications and AI workloads.

Technology Focus and Innovation

HPE’s business is increasingly centered around two major areas: Cloud & AI and Networking. These businesses give HPE exposure to long-term trends such as artificial intelligence, enterprise cloud adoption, data-center modernization, and cybersecurity.

HPE’s recent results show strong momentum. The company reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $10.7 billion, up 40% year over year. Networking revenue increased by an impressive 148%, while Cloud & AI revenue rose 22.9%. This growth reflects continued demand for servers, AI systems, storage, and other infrastructure needed to support modern businesses.

Financial Strength and Valuation

From a value-investing perspective, HPE is interesting because it combines technology growth with a relatively reasonable valuation. At approximately $49.87 per share, as of June 19, 2026; HPE has a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 15.1 and a dividend yield of 1.1%. Its market capitalization is approximately $66 billion.

HPE has also improved its financial outlook. The company raised its fiscal 2026 revenue-growth forecast to 29%-33% and, according to Valueline Inc, expects non-GAAP earnings per share of $3.35-$3.45. HPE also expects to generate at least $3.5 billion in free cash flow during fiscal 2026.

These figures suggest HPE could be entering an important period of earnings and cash-flow growth while still trading at a valuation that is not excessive compared with many technology companies.

Growth Potential and Future Prospects

One of the most attractive parts of HPE’s investment story is its exposure to AI infrastructure. Businesses and governments are investing heavily in computing power, networking equipment, and data centers to support increasingly sophisticated AI applications.

HPE is positioned to benefit through its AI-optimized servers and expanded networking portfolio. Its initial fiscal 2027 outlook also calls for continued growth, with approximately 8%-12% consolidated revenue growth and at least $4.5 billion in free cash flow.

Final Thoughts

HPE offers investors exposure to major technology trends without the extremely high valuations associated with some popular AI companies. Its expanded networking business, growing Cloud & AI segment, improving profitability, and rising free cash flow provide several potential catalysts for long-term growth.

HPE may be worth considering for investors seeking a combination of technology exposure, potential income, and value appreciation.
